Mindfulness Benefits Children and Teens

The demands on children and teens can take a toll on their mental health and wellbeing. Stress levels in children and teens increase as the pressures of homework, relationships, and navigating the digital world build. Teens are reporting on average a 50 hour workweek, the same amount as the average adult. The time spent on homework, part time jobs, and co-curricular activities leaves little time for teens to do the type of selfexploration that is so necessary to support their psychological development.

Mindfulness training benefits children and teens by teaching coping mechanisms, strategies to deal with stress, gratitude, self-love, and compassion for others. When adversity arises the children/teens will be equipped to better handle the the situation. Anxiety and depression are treatable. Being proactive by training our youth in mindfulness is one way of teaching students proven strategies to build resilience and long lasting well-being. Mindfulness training benefits everyone, no matter what age.
